Cellulite is widely considered a female problem. Though it can affect men as well, it doesn’t affect them nearly as much as it does women. Cellulite is not life threatening. It’s not even considered a serious, medical condition. However, it can be very unsightly and is certainly something that most women (and those men who suffer from it) wish they didn’t have to deal with.
There are a variety of ways to treat cellulite; one of the least invasive ways is using a cellulite brush, and we have featured several of those types of brushes and massagers below.
A cellulite brush can help improve the appearance of cellulite. It doesn’t get rid of it, at least not right away, but when used correctly and consistently, it can make it less unsightly.
A cellulite brush, which is also called a cellulite massager, offers additional benefits besides improving the appearance of cellulite. Overtime, brushes such as these, are believed to have a positive, long term effect on cellulite, namely by helping to improve the blood circulation closest to the skin. Depending on the brush, specifically its quality and design, it may be able to reach the skin’s deeper layers, break up toxins and the resulting cellulite.
Cellulite brushes can be used on a variety of body parts, amongst them, the stomach, thighs, arms and hips. These are all places where cellulite tends to be most prominent.
A cellulite massager is essentially a dry body brush. By dry brushing the body a person can jump-start the toxin removal process. Though there is some debate regarding whether or not cellulite is the result of toxin accumulation and if by removing toxins, it is possible to improve the appearance of cellulite, there are many people who believe that it does. They thus believe that dry brushing can help counteract, at least partly, whatever role toxins do play in the development of cellulite.
The use of a cellulite brush is believed to be beneficial, as it concerns the improved appearance of cellulite, for a number of reasons. It is thought that by brushing the skin, the underlying tissues will swell, which helps to even out the dimples, characteristic of cellulite. The result is smoother, dimple free (or at least reduced) skin, at least temporarily.
Knowing how to properly use a cellulite massager is very important. It has to be used the correct way in order to get the best results. Body brushes need to be hard but not too hard. If it is the latter, brushing will be painful, which is something an individual will obviously want to avoid. When brushing, individual has two options. They can start from their head and brush in a downward stroke or they can begin at the feet and brush upwards.
After brushing, the individual should take a shower to remove all of the dead skin cells. To get even better results, an individual may want to apply an anti-cellulite cream on a person’s problem areas. Combining the aforementioned with healthy eating, exercise and weight training, can go a long way in reducing cellulite.
